Rafliansyah, one of Destanada II's personnel mentioned that the formation of the Singkil Destanada II Ethnic Music Group was inspired by the Music Group formed by their parents since 1970 under the name "Destanada".
Destanada itself is taken from a village name which is located in the Watershed, namely "Teluk Ambun". Teluk Ambun village is shortened to "Desta" then combined with "Nada" so it becomes "Destanada".

Seeing "Destanada" had been vacuum for a long time, Rafliansyah, Andri Juliswan, Hendra Gunawan, Risqanet al took the initiative to form and revive their parents' enthusiasm by giving birth to a different genre of music, namely Singkil Ethnic Music with the group name "Destanada II".
Destanada II was born born amid the decline of cultural values with the aim of re-raising the culture entrusted by previous ancestors.
