Yesterday at 5:00 AM the legend left us and went to a better world.
When I say "the legend", that doesn't mean that I spent hours and hours listening is songs, but those songs are just the part of us. You can't live in the Balkans Peninsula without a clue who was Oliver Dragojević. After 50 long years of singing career and 23 studio albums, that specific voice very difficult to imitate will never record a new song. He was well known and very popular in the other neighbor countries, but one thing is sure: he represented our beautiful Dalmatia with each his breath. No, we will never have another artist like him.
Oliver was definitely the greatest start in the former state of Yugoslavia, definitely greater than Mate Mišo and, the most important, if you live here, and you are younger than 50, your mom and dad probably made you while Oliver was on the radio. This is how I was created. They never told me which song exactly it was, but they almost called me Oliver. Luckily, I had a grandma who prevented that.
