The Fruit Machine was a band from the London UK area who came out with three singles in the late 60s. You can read more about them at this link:

Apparently there is also a movie from 1988 also called The Fruit Machine and you can read about that here:

The movie tells the tale of 2 gay teens who are great friends but with different perspectives on things. Further investigation by me online shows that The Fruit Machine was a machine that was supposed to be able to measure physiological responses to pictures, and was used to determine if a man was gay. I had never heard of this before. Here's the link:

I have no idea if there is any connection between the name of the group and this machine. There is very little info about the band online.
In any case, here's a song that features fuzz guitar in a mid tempo rock beat, with some cool solos. Supposedly this is from their second single.
I have been aware of this song for years but today I found another song by The Fruit Machine called Willow Tree. I think I heard it once before, but since it came up in the related videos column on my YouTube, I listened again and really enjoyed it. As someone in the comments said, it has a very similar sound to Dear Mister Fantasy by Traffic. Willow Tree is from '69 and Mr. Fantasy is from '68.
I might as well embed Mr. Fantasy here, while I'm thinking about it. This is a fairly well known tune, and its very cool!
