Back in '66 we got the first album from Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention. This is track 5 and it is called Motherly Love. The guitar is pretty cool. Overdriven a bit, fuzzy a bit. The song structure is kind of normal but a little weird, as most of Zappa's stuff was. I think that's a kazoo I'm hearing in parts.
As for the lyrics, it's kind of a sex story about what these guys in the band can give a girl. Of course since it's 1966 nothing is explicit but it's pretty obvious!
The Mothers got the lovin' that'll drive you mad
They're ravin' 'bout the way we do
No need to be lonely no need to be sad
if we ever get our hold on you!
What you need is, Motherly Love!
Nature's been good to this here band
Don't ever think we're shy
Send us up some little groupies, and we'll take their hands
And rock 'em 'til they sweat and cry
What you need is, Motherly Love!
We can love ya 'til ya have a heart attack
You'd best believe that's true
We'll bite your neck and scratch your back
'Til you don't know what to do
What you need is, Motherly love!
Motherly love!
Forget about the brotherly and otherly love
Motherly love is just the thing for you
You know your Mother's gonna love ya
'Til you don't know what to do!
