Back in the 70s there was a pop metal band called BTO. That was an abbreviation for Bachman Turner Overdrive. They had huge hits with Takin' Care Of Business and You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet.
Back in the 60s there was a band called The Guess Who. Randy Bachman was a founding member. Here's their first song called Shakin' All Over.
I don't know what movie or TV show the video is from. It's a bit disturbing and doesn't really match the song all that well. But it has a touch of a Halloween feel, so I guess it goes with the season.
The Guess Who went on to have many hits including These Eyes and American Woman. You may have noticed that the singer of Shakin' All Over doesn't sound like the guy in these hits.
That's because The Guess Who started off with a different singer named Chad Allan. Their future singer was doing well with this band, The Deverons.
The singer you hear in this song is named Burton Cummings. He sang and played keyboards. When Chad Allan left The Guess Who in 1966, Burton Cummings joined to take over lead vocals.
Here's an unknown song by The Guess Who in 1966. It has heavy reverb effects in the guitar in some parts. The drum part is meant to sound like a Clock on the wall. The lyrics are rather depressing. The guy has a drinking problem, things aren't going well for him, and time is passing him by.
Enjoy Halloween week but watch your drinking and your mood. Stay positive, enjoy your life and enjoy your time here on Hive where you're part of the future of money and social sites!
