On Tuesday the carpenter and his wife took me down to a Fiddler concert on the Town Hall lawn. They had seen the fiddler Sarah twice before and were impressed with her performances. Sarah had brought her husband Keith as a drummer.
When the sun came out it was quite nice. But it mostly was behind clouds and quite windy. I am the gray blob on the left, in an almost warm enough heavy insulated sweatshirt.
The fiddler said she learned fiddling when she went to old time fiddler events with her grandparents as a child. She prefers to play the old songs she learned back then. But she also can play polkas and she always does a tribute to veterans during each program. She works at the Soldiers Home and often plays for the veterans there.
The event was sponsored by our local Council on Aging and was open to anyone. The kids getting out of school and walking home stopped to listen, and a couple moms had brought their kids too.
It was nice to get out to an event that didn’t last a long time after the hard weekend I had.
