I was experimenting with new
sounds from "The Forge", an instrument pack for Ableton, and it wound up slowly turning into a tune here. I still need to go back and edit some things, the bassy/subby parts of the synths definitely drown out the "oompf" of the drums, and the kicks wound up a bit too tinny, so I'll have to finetune some EQ's and compressors in the future. But in regards to getting the general idea of the song across, I think this works. Let's go through it!

Tracks 1, 2, 3 and 4
are the basic, ambient/spacey sounds that I built the rest of the song around. Again, these drown out some of the other parts, which I didn't notice until listening to the song in my car with a full sound system, so I'll be reworking this over the next week or so. I've attached a screnshot of Track 1's full progression below.
Track 1, the full progression.
Tracks 5, 6 and 7
are all our drum tracks. Track 5 provides most of the main beat, with 6 adding our hihat, and 7 some extra little hits and SFX to make things a bit more interesting. Tracks 8 and 9 are both used for little transition/crescendo sections, and swell up in volume, in addition to panning in opposite directions. These need to be blended a little more, as they seem a bit out of place now, but with a little bit of elbow grease, I think they will work nicely.

Tracks 11 and 12 are both
plucky, staccato synth sounds that add some tiny beepy sounds in the background, just to fill things out a bit more. Our final Track is #13, which plays an arpeggiated sort of melody line, which comes in and out with some sidechain compression on the kick drum of Track 5. The progression is pictured below.
