Nancy Sinatra - The Shadow of Your Smile
Nancy Sinatra is, of course,
the daughter of legendary singer Frank Sinatra and his wife Nancy, who came to fame in her own right in the mid '60s with a number of hits, including 'These Boots Are Made For Walkin''. She was born in 1940 in New Jersey, and had an interest in singing and performing from an early age, clearly influenced by the show business she grew up in. Her music was definitely different than her father's, and appealed to a much younger audience, but he seemed to be a fan, and even participated in some duets on her albums.

This song is from Nancy's
second album, How Does That Grab You?, released in 1966. It was written by Johnny Mandel, Paul Francis Webster, and is an incredibly beautiful, jazzy tune. I highly reccomend this album in its entirety; you may recognize a track or two, including 'Bang Bang...', composed by Sunny Bono, which was popularized in the film Kill Bill. If you're interested, I found an incredible guitar arrangement of this song, which you can check out here.
