Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, Trent Reznor - Mantra
All 3 of these artists
are incredible, and their respective bands all have done some amazing things, so having them come together for a song is really great. This was recorded for the film (and album) 'Sound City' (and 'Sound City-Reel to Reel, respectively). The album is essentially the Foo Fighters and a bunch of guest artists, although some of the songs have only 1 or 2 Foo Fighters along with the guest.

On this song,
Dave Grohl plays drums, Josh Homme is on bass, and Trent Reznor is playing the keyboard. I really like Homme's bass line here, it fits so well with the groove, and he does some really interesting changes and transitions throughout. The keyboard is definitely super Reznor-esque, playing in a minor key but resolving to the parallel major to give it that epic sort of feeling. They definitely jam this song out, the whole thing is almost 8 minutes, which is great, while it is repetitive, that repetition sort of gets you in a trance.
