"All The Things You Are" a very popular jazz standard is another amazing song composed by Jerome Kern with the lyrics written by Oscar Hammerstein II. The song was originally written for a play in 1939 called "Very Warm For May", but later it appeared in the film "Broadway Rhythm" in 1944. Since then the song has been recorded by just about every artist you can imagine, and for jazz virtuosos, this song has the chord changes that keeps any improviser on their toes.
However, when you use the Real Book to learn the song and chord progression, you will notice it is in the key of Fm. This might be great for piano players and singers and maybe horn players, but for the guitar it is not the most friendly position because of all the chord changes and key center changes in the song. That's why I transposed the entire song to Am which is a much more suitable key for the guitar. That way you can use more open chords and open strings which makes the chord melody more interesting to the listener.

All The Things You Are - Jerome Kern & Oscar Hammerstein II
You are the promised kiss of springtime
That makes the lonely winter seem long
You are the breathless hush of evening
That trembles on the brink of a lovely song
You are the angel glow that lights a star
The dearest things I know are what you are
Some day my happy arms will hold you
And some day I'll know that moment divine
When all the things you are, are mine
You are the angel glow that lights a star
The dearest things I know are what you are
Some day my happy arms will hold you
And some day I'll know that moment divine
When all the things you are, are mine
