Hi friends, here is a new original song about young love. It's called "One Way Street". First I would like to thank everybody on steemit for an amazing response to my last song "Have Another Round". I would especially like to thank
and
and of course everyone who commented and watched it.
This new song was an original song I played in a group called the Defenders in the 1980's and the music and lyrics were composed by Ken Canedo who is a famous Christian song writer today living in Portland Oregon. Ken was the bass player in the band and I was the guitarist, but I never actually sang the song until this version.
I played all the instruments and created a much better arrangement over the weekend and you can be sure I will message Ken on Facebook and rock him out with the new version I know he will love. So without further ado ... here goes
"One Way Street"
One Way Street
Thinking 'bout the moment that I met you
thinking 'bout the love I thought I knew
thinking 'bout the times we've had together
thinking 'bout the dreams I've had of you
You told me that you loved me, and I believed you,
Oh, at least it's what it seemed to me ...
You had me in your power, every lonely hour
So tied down ... to a one way street
How can someone lovely as a flower
have a heart so thoughtless and so cold
how can love become a game of power
It's you or me or nothing so I'm told
You told me that you loved me, and I believed you,
Oh, at least it's what it seemed to me ...
You had me in your power, every lonely hour
So tied down ... to a one way street
- guitar solo -
You told me that you loved me, and I believed you,
Oh, at least it's what it seemed to me ...
You had me in your power, every lonely hour
So tied down ... to a one way street
You told me that you loved me, and I believed you,
Oh, at least it's what it seemed to me ...
You had me in your power, every lonely hour
So tied down ...
The End
