Attention my fellow metalheads who are perpetually in search of new high quality original music!
Mad Parish
A band from Montreal Quebec, Mad Parish was formed in 2006 by singer and main composer Josh McConnell. I played in this band for a few years and recorded guitar on their debut "Procession", and I have to say, I have not since seen or heard another heavy metal band quite like this. They blend old school NWOBHM, power metal, and 70's prog to create interesting song structures with-in-your face, 80's style power-choruses. Having shared the stage with such bands as Anvil, Priestess, Blaze Bayley, Udo Dirkschneider, Tim "Ripper" Owens, Grim Reaper, and many others, they have earned quite a name for themselves in the local scene.
They are currently working on their second album, and though I no longer play with them, I heard some new material live and I have to admit that the second one might have the potential to blow the first one away. Though traditionally they used three guitars with triple harmonies, they have recently replaced a guitarist with a keyboardist, which has given the band and even more unique and interesting sound.
