Happy to share this one with you all! I recorded it last week because I knew my time away would be busy and I wanted to make sure I was able to keep putting up good music for you to listen to!
I do appreciate you all on here sooo much, and am realizing it's hard to make sure I get a chance to see all of your blogs in return, which is actually really important to me. I'd really like to spend more time curating your content, so if you comment on this post (or any of the ones in the next week), I am going to make a point to go and see what you've been posting! Because there aren't notifications about who my new followers are, I can't give you the love I want to in return and it's become very hard to sift through all nearly-1300 of you (wow! What a number!).
So help me! From now on I'm going to try to do that as much as possible, because I really want to see what you are all up to. My voting power is still a little bit lame, but I can at least give you a few pennies and some love :).
I also really believe in Steemit as a platform, and want to start more consciously supporting the best authors/artists/content-creators in the way that I can.
I will likely start posting a little less often to allow more time and energy to curate content and encourage/comment.
Anyway.. hope you enjoy this song! I really love Brooke Fraser's work and this is just a sweet, cute song to cover. I really hope you enjoy it!
Lyrics below xx
"Arithmetic" by Brooke Fraser
I've been staring at the sky tonight
Marvelling and passing time
Wondering what to do with daylight
Until I can make you mine
You are the one I want, you are the one I want
I've been thinking of changing my mind
It never stays the same for long
But of all the things I know for sure
You're the only certain one
You are the one I want, you are the one I want
I've been counting up all my wrongs
One sorry for each star
See I'd apologise my way to you
If the heavens stretched that far
You are the one I want, you are the one I want
[Chorus]
I won't find what I am looking for
If I only "see" by keeping score
'Cos I know now you are so much more than arithmetic
'Cos if I add, if I subtract
If I give it all, try to take some back
I've forgotten the freedom that comes from the fact
That you are the sum
So you are the one
I want
When the years are showing on my face
And my strongest days are gone
When my heart and flesh depart this place
From a life that sung your song
You'll still be the one I want
You'll still be the one I want..

P.S. If you enjoyed this, here is one of my originals that I'd love to share with you - a bit of a lullaby :).
