Caballo Viejo
Caballo viejo es un tema del maestro compositor venezolano Simón Díaz de ritmo vals pasaje, esta canción a recorrido el mundo entero siendo versionada por muchos artistas y traducida por 12 idiomas, sin duda ha sido un boom venezolano.
Ahora pregunto, ¿por qué pasa eso? Y acá te va parte de mi historia…. Hace poco un amigo me contrató para tocar en el cumpleaños de su mamá y el repertorio que pidió para ella, fueron algunos temas venezolanos, siendo él colombiano 🙄 y sigue la pregunta presente ¿Por qué?
En algunas conversaciones con él hemos compartido música, cada quien de su país y nos dimos cuenta y confirmamos que realmente Colombia y Venezuela si son países hermanos por las similitudes de muchas cosas, pero hay una diferencia donde entra el protagonismo de la música venezolana la diversidad de golpes y ritmos que se pueden tener y es tan envolvente que es capaz de recorrer el mundo entero, cualquiera queda enamorado de un pajarillo, un merengue 5/8, un pasaje, un tambor culo e´ puya, el ritmo afrodescendiente de los tambores……
Quizás el maestro Simón Díaz lo sabía y por eso sacó esta joya, que sin duda será un tema que jamás morirá y seguirá no solo latente en cada venezolano que nos encontramos regado por el mundo, sino por los mismos habitantes, países y nacionalidades con que cada venezolano se relaciona.
Así que nuestra misión como venezolanos es no dejar morir nuestra música y cultura, que seamos el canal de difusión y compartir de dónde venimos, pero ojo jamás cerrarnos a recibir la tradiciones de los países y personas que nos acogen.
¡Espero que disfrutes mi versión de Caballo Viejo! Y ya sabes que cada vez que escuches esta primera frase “Cuando el amor llega así de esta manera,
uno no se da ni cuenta” estas al frente de una joya musical.

Now I ask, why does that happen? And here is part of my story... A friend recently hired me to play at his mom's birthday and the repertoire he asked for her, were some Venezuelan songs, he being Colombian 🙄 and the present question follows, why?
In some conversations with him we have shared music, each one from his country and we realized and confirmed that Colombia and Venezuela really are brother countries because of the similarities of many things, but there is a difference where diversity comes into play in Venezuelan music. of beats and rhythms that can be had and is so enveloping that it is capable of traveling the entire world, anyone falls in love with a little bird, a merengue 5/8, a passage, a drum ass e' puya, the Afro-descendant rhythm of the drums ……
Perhaps the master Simón Díaz knew it and that is why he brought out this jewel, which will undoubtedly be a theme that will never die and will continue not only latent in each Venezuelan that we find scattered around the world, but also by the same inhabitants, countries and nationalities with which every Venezuelan relates.
So our mission as Venezuelans is not to let our music and culture die, that we be the channel of diffusion and share where we come from, but never close ourselves to receiving the traditions of the countries and people that welcome us.
