As the YouTube heading states, this is an “awesome” piece of Scottish music. Awesome, amazing, and more energetic than one might expect.

Beyond Pipes and Whistles

When we think of Scottish music, we tend to think of pipes, whistles, accordions, and maybe a light frame drum.

In this live street show, however, the band gives us the “authentic tribal sound of Scotland.” The focus is not on the pipes, but on the intense and primal drumming, as well as the occasional guttural roar from the leader. _{(Image source)}

Clanadonia

Clanadonia are a “drums and pipe band with a difference” (self-proclaimed). They have been active for over 20 years, and, as you will hear, they are still active and strong. Very strong.

Bringing Havoc and Joy to the World

Blending traditional sounds and “tribal rhythms,” the band’s mission is to “spread bagpipe- and drum-fuelled havoc” around the world.
