Whilst listening to some music I noticed the was no sound coming from my left speaker so I checked the obvious, the banana plugs on the back of the speaker and they where fine , next the back of my amp and noticed it came back on after giving the banana plug a few wiggles I quickly realised it must be a problem inside the amp so I decided to open it up
First I took the top off
And then the bottom, I was hoping to see something obvious or possibly a dry joint but I must admit I could see nothing so I got my multi meter out and did a few continuity tests in between the speaker post and the circuit board
And still nothing and I was even wiggling the probe in the speaker post to see if it broke the continuity but no nothing. At this point i decided to redo the solder joints
After removing the solder and replacing with new I put the amplifier back together and although I couldn’t see anything the amplifier is working properly it must of been a dry joint , considering the amplifier was made in the nineties it’s not doing to bad .thanks for taking the time to look cheers mike
