MC Hammer is controverse as a personality and artist. This song is an evergreen of the rap / hop hop scene - like it or not. He was born as Stanley Kirk Burrell and is not only singer but also dancer, record producer and entrepreneur. The late 1980s, until the early 1990s have been his most successful times, especially famous for his flashy dance movements, choreography and eponymous Hammer pants. He still published records from time to time.
He was the first hip hop artist to achieve diamond status with an album and later became a preacher during the late 1990s with a Christian ministry program on US television. His life was not boring at all, as musician and prayer he also was arrested by the Police in Ireland,had legal cases, bankruptcy, TV life performances until near past. Even now he is always in the US media at least for several activities such as joining the governor of Indiana to unveil prison coding program for women. Interestingly he was encouraged to marry Whitney Houston by her father some years ago before the Hammer Bobby Brown did this - sad life story.
What we can say for sure - he - MC Hammer - is a true #DANCELEGEND.
