Sometimes you don't need even listen to songs from the album of a certain artist to be disappointed. Just look at his cover. Maybe now on such little things don't pay attention, but often visualization of the concept of the musician's work allows the listener to better understand the meaning. This is like a first contact.
With the development of the Internet, disks and, especially, vinyls are bought mostly only for collections, so the "face" of the studio-album is not particularly important. Of course, in our time, buyer can go over to pirate-site, listen to product and identify the percentage of slag in it and then decide whether it is worth buying. But still the cover of the album should reflect not only the flight of the artist's fantasy, but also convey the very essence of all the long-play. To push the listener to some idea during of the audition. But what, for example, can this cover tell the music fan?
Boned — Up At The Crack
Perhaps the music from Boned is good, but Gibson sticking out from underneath his jeans - it's not good, dudes.
Or here. The Japanese version of your neighbor right now will crack on the drill second-rate heavy metal:
Metalucifer — Heavy Metal Dril
By the way, not everyone learns from their mistakes. The Japanese guys from Metalucifer placed on the cover of the second album of that same dude. There's nothing to say. Everyone has his own idea of humor.
And this one pearl.
Wasnatch — Front To Back (2013-й год)
Simultaneously, both funny and disgusting. But something does not comes to mind: "I should listen to what reggae they play there."
When there is no boujet:
Tankard - King of Beer
Therion – Theli
I have long ceased to be surprised at the covers of grindcore albums and bands playing black metal. But how can you then perceive the material hidden behind such and such a muzzle?
Torment - Bestial Sex
Dinosaurs about dinosaurs:
Scorpions & Berliner Philharmoniker – Moment of Glory
And, of course, fantastic:
Digger — Stronger Than Ever
Despite the stupidity of the cover, I like this robotic drake. And the title "Stronger than ever" fits well. But this is horror.
Frankly, for the idea of picking I peeped in the online magazine Samesound, which, in turn, stolen it from another site. But it does not matter anymore. My list was ten times shorter. I decided not to pay attention to the hand-drawn covers, really disgusting and even more stupid works.
This list could be continued indefinitely. Digging into the Internet, found a lot of everything, but decided to finish.
And how do you know the bad covers for the albums?
