I can't believe this didn't make the cut for round 1 honestly. I'm about to share one of my favorite German songs!
I know that I already did a German Travel Tunes Tuesday, but I heard so many amazing songs in Germany that I just need a part 2!
Having the choose the first time around was too tough (or maybe I was just too indecisive haha).
Quitting my job and going to Europe was one of the best decisions I ever made. It completely changed the course of my life forever. AND I have amazing songs to remember it by.
I love how songs and smells can take you back in time instantly! And they say time travel doesn't exist. Ha.
So, here is easily one of my favorite German songs. It makes me so happy when I hear it!
Ich + Ich - So soll es bleiben
Ok, so these ones I left out last time because it just feels embarrassing to share. But whatever. I've already done embarrassing things on here like sing songs I made up, so I'll share these.
I love these next two songs sort of because of the animated videos, but also because they're complementary to each other.
I was teaching myself German and actually learned a lot through music, these two songs being some of the ones that taught me.
Unfortunately, that means my German skills are pretty useless, because I have NEVER needed to say "Auch wenn du schläfst, schau ich nach dir" or "even when you sleep I search for you" essentially. Creepy much?!?
And I've never needed to say "When I look out my window the sky is always gray...I'm so sad and so alone.... Why won't you be mine?"
These are just not things that have ever needed to come out of my mouth. But, I know how to say them in German. Oh well. Life is weird sometimes.
Damien Dawn - Mein Herz (My Heart)
I love how this video is animated with the same characters from this completely different song and they go together! I also love how both of these songs have simple enough German to where you can actually learn some uh, sort of useful things!
Anna Blue - So Allein
I like that the videos go together and tell a story. I'm pretty sure it's the story aspect of these songs that hooked me (even if in the first one the guy has vampire teeth and is potentially a creeper).
