This will be the “St. Anger” album of 2018. It will be probably the most critically acclaimed record of the year. But is it really so bad, as the haters are gonna say to you? Machine Head released a risky album. They know this for sure. This album contains nu metal influences, which were buried 15 years ago and which for a moment could kill the career of the band at the beginning of the century. But “Catharsis” is not just a nu metal album. It is a kaleidoscope of different influences. Here is the 9-minute epic song (Heavy Lies The Crown), which is dedicated to the cruel French king Louis XI. You will find various Irish motives in “Bastards” and while the track is being played, you will hear the political views of Robb Flynn for the modern civilization. To provoke and shock the puritans – you can find also a ballad, called “Behind A Mask”.
In “Catharsis” you can find what you deserve to hear and we advise you: first listen and then hate the album!
