Hi Steemians! !!
Today i want to share something different, something really bizarre.
As a professional drummers, or professional musicians we end up in strange situations that we have to face; we have to deal with the madness of composers and producers, (sometimes professionals, sometimes amateurs), who see the musician as a puppet. These situations can happen in live shows, recordings and rehearsals.
A couple of months ago, I was hired to make some recordings for a "progressive rock" album. As a musician who loves to live in a recording studio, and as a human being who has bills to pay, I said yes.
Everything seemed normal, until I received the demos.
That "progessive rock" suddenly became the bizarre and timeless experiments of a sinister and disturbed mind; an orgy of irregular bars, 7/8 + 9/8 + 11/8 + 5/4, all in the same musical phrase, (I'm not kidding).
This is definitely the hardest record i ever recorded.
Do not misunderstand me, there are things on the album that are interesting; or maybe it's like one of those horrible dogs, which, as horrible as they are, end up giving tenderness.
Please, feel free to comment what you want. This album has generated many different and funny reactions.
I would love to know yours! hahahahaha
