Jack Jackson and his group are carrying out actions to minimize the environmental effect of their tour. Therefore, they are cooperating with hand-picked community groups to support plastic free initiatives and ecological, local food systems. Moreover, as part of their summer tour, the Johnson Ohana Foundation is providing matching and direct donations to All At Once Non-Profit Partners.
Tour
Jack Johnson and his group are eradicating plastic water bottle single-use on tour, through fill up at through backstage water fill-up stations. Also, the team has provided fans a substitute to one-use plastic cups and plastic straws by endorsing a Reusable Pint Program. To shrink the volume of waste headed for the landfill the group with venue operators work hard towards a zero waste tour through composting, recycling and several waste diversion tactics.
The crew will use sustainable biodiesel to fuel generators, trucks, and buses throughout North America. Furthermore, for shipping gear, ground and sea freight will be used to ease the tour’s carbon footprint. Jack Jackson tour crew operate directly with purveyors and local firms to source home-grown organic foods while leftover food will be offered to community hunger relief groups.
Merchandise
Jack Johnson concert merchandise is made from eco-friendly materials with emphasis on renewables and reusable; for instance use of reusable beverage bags and containers to minimize plastic waste. Finally, after all, measures to conserve energy have been implemented, remaining carbon dioxide emissions for every show and the entire trip will be counterbalanced to support a range of domestic and sustainable carbon management projects.
