Hello everyone!
A friend of mine was having trouble learning the song "Dream" by Bishop Briggs and after searching the internet I couldn't find an actual tab, the only thing was a chord chart on ultimate guitar.
The issue with chord charts is that as a beginner guitarist you don't have the necessary skills yet to turn that chord chart into anything more than just well...chords. If you listen to the song you hear that the guitar isn't just strumming away at full chords but there are some arpeggiated patterns.
I don't believe in fully spoon feeding a beginner guitarist so I created a tab for this song along with some tips to help.
TIP 1 - When practicing use a pick, then once you feel comfortable use finger picking. Be sure to use your thumb for the bass notes and your index/middle for the higher notes. This is a great beginner exercise to start finger picking.
TIP 2 - Be sure to start slow and build up speed. Don't rush it and DON'T attempt to sing with it until you can play the song effortlessly. If you try to add too much too soon it will just lead to frustration.
TIP 3 - During the chorus don't worry about the strum pattern too much. As long as you make the changes on time then any strum pattern will work. Work on making the chord transitions clean.
TIP 4 - Once you have the chords down then emphasize the chords where the kick drum would be, give it a nice harder down stroke. Be sure to listen to the song repeatedly to get the feel.
