Lars Ulrich, Metallica's renown drummer and founder announced in an interview with the Metal Forces Mag that the new album will be written this summer. He added that they will soon decide how it will be named and what songs will be on it.
New album will be recorded and produced in Metallica's headquarters in San Rafael, California, with producer Greg Fidelman, who ho engineered and mixed "Death Magnetic". Lars also added that Fidelman is working 24/7 on this record since last summer.
The band hoped that the album would arrive in 2016., but guys don't want to make any promises. . "If the record doesn't come out this year, then it won't be because it's not done, it will be because there's some sort of cosmic reason that it would be smarter to hold onto it until next year. But the record will be done this summer." said Lars.
...so what do you guys think? Do we really need new album? Is there anything new or hopefully "old" new that we can hear from them or is it just "cashing the cow"? Did you like Death Magnetic? On the other hand, Metallica's headlining show at Minneapolis' new U.S. Bank Stadium on August 20 sold out 66,000 tickets in less that 10 minutes. Impressive.
