Traditional Musical Instruments - Gamelan
Gamelan Music / Gamelan is a music ensemble that usually features metallophones, urns, drums, and gongs. The music created in the gamelan comes from a mixture of gong, kenong and other Javanese musical instruments. The rhythm of music is generally gentle and reflects the harmony of life, as is the principle of life adopted by the Javanese society in general.
The name of the gamelan itself actually comes from two syllables "gamel" and "an". The Gamel in Java means to hit or beat, while an in the Java language means noun. So the gamelan is a drum activity performed by ancient people who later became the name of the ensemble musical instrument.
If we look back in time, the gamelan actually originally consisted of only one big gong, then eventually from one big gong plus the smaller-sized gongs with a variety of shapes including what we can see now this.
