Musical improvisation is truly mysterious. Lying Dormant is the hundreds upon hundreds of hours of playing, practicing and integration of technique only to be unleashed in a real-time performance. No time for calculation, only execution.
This song was fully written, or rather improvised, during a Facebook Live session. What was going to be a short improvised jam turned into 15min full-on composition. Omitted from this recording is a 7min Intro and the remaining 6 minutes. It is my hope that this composition will someday become a Concerto for Singer-Songwriter and Orchestra.
