is suggesting we post some of the metal songs we like. Metal covers a broad range of music from soft rock to all our thrash/death/black metal. My tastes tend towards classic rock that kicked off this genre, but I like a lot of different music. My daughter is actually more into the modern metal than me.
Going way back I discovered the joys of Deep Purple. Ritchie Blackmore's riffing and Ian Gillan's vocals inspired many bands. I was lucky to see the classic lineup on the House of Blue Light tour when they played all the classics.
Another band I saw live (twice) around the time this song came our was Living Colour. Metal tends to be a largely white genre and some may say this is more towards funk, but those speedy drums and heavy riffs are pure metal. Vernon Reid is a guitar god.
This last one is one of my daughter's favourite bands, Motionless in White. I went to one of their gigs with her when her friend couldn't go. I have to say they are a bit more 'shouty' than I like, but they really got the crowd going. Something odd with the still Youtube shows as some of the guitar tuners are missing.
I could list many more. There's the whole instrumental guitar field with people like Vai and Satriani. I'll save some for next time.
Rock on!
I'll buy guitar picks for Steem Dollars
