I've long admired the skills of Ritchie Blackmore. I discovered his music from Deep Purple and Rainbow in my youth. I loved the classical theme he used and he influenced a generation of guitarists. In this interview he talks about some of the conflicts he had with band members. Some of them did not take the music as seriously as him.
I've not caught him live yet. He's in his 70s now, so there may not be many years left to do that. To be honest, from this video I think he has lost the fire of his youth, but it's good to see he's still rocking. I can't say I followed his medieval music career.
I never got why people wind up the long guitar string ends. Why not just chop them off? It's not like you're going to re-use them.
