I wanted to teach my daughter to sing. I realized we would need to learn the words to the songs, and if we wanted to sing more than a few songs, it would be best, if she is able to read the lyrics from paper printout.
So she was 3, we learned the alphabet. All the letters.
She was 4, we started reading together. Simple books. Cat in the Hat.
When she was 5, she was singing from the printout of lyrics, for new songs we wanted to learn to sing together.
A very rewarding experience, I would recommend this strategy to other parents as well.
In this recording, we sing 2 different songs:
- Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer
- Be Optimistic
Each song has several different verses with different words for each verse.
In this recording, we are attempting to "memorize" the verses and not use lyrics sheets to read, as she sings each song.
