I heard about this challenge from who in turn heard about it from
. Now this was about the time I was doing the ‘Influential Books’ series …Part One Part Two Part Three.
I was very motivated by the Top 10 Music Albums challenge as music is my very first love…. But the Book challenge actually took it out of me …weird but true. I did not feel like blogging, and certainly not such a challenging subject as this challenge entails.
could not quite get his down to 10 Albums..his 14 Albums can be found here and a fairly eclectic mix for sure. I can identify with some and even (almost) agree with one or two …. Go check them out.
has a more ‘conventional’ list and I certainly have at least one artist in common with him but a different album. Find his blog here
Now I would like to approach this in a different way… doing my top 10 in five posts… two albums at a time so I can share more of the music. Also, no particular order as the number one would change on any given day depending on my mood.
Harvest - Neil Young
Without a doubt this was one of the biggest impacts of my young life, at the time a tender 13 years old.
I wrote about this album in one of my 'Growing Up in the 70's' episodes ... somewhere far down in my blog you may find it ... circa August 2016.
The Needle and the Damage Done
Slade - Live
What can I say about this British rock band. It was the very first album I bought with pocket money saved for four months. I played it into a coma.
I believe it was largely Slade that defined my love for rock music over Pop... and I never looked back.
Uncomplicated , straight forward rock...no frills. Noddy Holder was my hero ..... until I heard .... Ozzy Osbourne ...a not so subtle hint as to what comes next !!
Until tomorrow .... in the meantime, love your loved ones, live mindfully and be safe !
