Over the years, SXSW has become one of the largest music, tech, film and political trade festivals in the world. We were fortunate enough to head down to Austin for 6 days during the festival, and had a heap of performances during that time. From street performances, to TV and interviews, our goal was to gain as much exposure and meet as many people as we could during those 5 days in Austin.
Here are some of the highlights from our week at SXSW:
Busking on the storied 6th Street and Congress Ave. This was a great crossway to grab people headed to different daytime events.
Performing at Treehouse Sessions Austin: We got to feel like the Lost Boys from Peter Pan here. Great, great setting.
Collaborating with Hawaiian artist, Temaine. She is a world class ukulele player and a lovely person. Please check out her music. We’ll share more of our Session with her very very soon.
We got to do a session for MyMusicRx at Dell's Children Hospital in Austin. MyMusicRx is the flagship program of the Children’s Cancer Association (CCA) who believes #JoyMatters and #MusicHeals. We do so as well and if talking with you Troublemakers over the past years has taught us one thing than that music can have a healing power in life. Needless to say we felt very privileged on that day.
A surprise gig on the final night. Our wonderful Austin Troublemakers Julie and Vic organized a show on the private residence of their generous and incredibly creative friends, who had handcrafted and uniquely designed a stage for our performance in Lago Vista! Now, that’s what you call ‘ending on a high note’, right?
Also - one of our absolute highlights of the conference was a new streaming platform called Feedbands. They have recently launched and are paying artists per stream using Bitcoin as the currency. In addition, every 100 streems will result in one tree planted to offset mining emissions. We will do a more indepth analysis of the platform as we complete our first trial month! Take a listen to our latest album by visiting our profile https://feedbands.com/thetroublenotes and clicking on any of the tracks.
STEEM ON Troublemakers!
