About
"Last to Know" follows a fictional story of a two people fighting it out in the media. It's not necessarily about a couple and though I don't believe it to be the main inspiration for the song, it was written around the time our former Prime Ministers Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard were involved in a leadership spill.
Lyrics
Grey, winter, it's time they heard your side
Snow, sleet, you've got the will no need to hide
Heartbeat, this city is quiet at 5am
Butterflies, your story it will be the news today
You might break, you might fall, you might be the last to call
I might break, I might fall, I be the last to know
Fingertips, they twitch and fidget in your lap
Slender lips, speak words sting like a heart attack
Red light, you're on air your story's live
Sunrise, your story it will be the news today
You might break, you might fall, you might be the last to call
I might break, I might fall, I be the last to know
You might break, you might fall, you might be the last to call
I might break, I might fall, I be the last to know
Get your story straight
Get your story straight
Don't be afraid, we'll see who can tell the biggest lie
Get your story straight
Get your story straight
Don't be afraid, we'll see who can tell the biggest lie
