The West Is Burning is a three piece from Eugene, Oregon that combines live musicians playing electronic and traditional instruments, midi mashing, live looping and live production to create a heavy instrumental sonic blanket of dark cinematic, ambient, industrial downtempo and what we like to call Doom and Bass.
Using modern production techniques on stage, The West Is Burning is breaking the mold of traditional electronic music by not faithfully recreating the same pre recorded tracks night after night, but each performance becomes unique with sound artifacts and live looping captures that would be impossible to reenact exactly. This keeps the music tangible and interesting to watch be built in a performance.
Influences are if Nine Inch Nails, King Crimson, Mogwai, Brian Eno, Bassnectar, YOB, Chelsea Wolfe and Hans Zimmer got together and made a movie soundtrack.
