Hello Steemians,
any metalfans out there who don't know the song "Bodies" by Drowning Pool? Maybe better known as "Let the Bodies hit the -ts ts- FLOOOOOOOOOOOOoooor" :D - one of the best-known songs by Drowning Pool, used for films (Triple X) and TV programs:
Bodies from debutalbum Sinner from 2001
But this is by far not the only great song Drowning Pool can offer. Since they started in Dallas, Texas in 1996 they created 6 album with the latest one Hellelujah in 2016. Although they changed the singer 4 times for different (also sad) reasons, all album are great powerful works.
- 2001: Sinner (with singer Dave Williams)
- 2004: Desensitized (with singer Jason Jones)
- 2007: Full Circle (with singer Ryan McCombs)
- 2010: Drowning Pool (with singer Ryan McCombs)
- 2013: Resilience (with singer Jasen Moreno)
- 2016: Hellelujah (with singer Jasen Moreno)
Unfortunately their song "Bodies" was associated with some violent actions and was also taken off the radio after the September 11 attacks. The statement of the band regarding the violent aspect:
It’s about my perspective when I look out and see the pit. It’s about forgetting everything that has happened to you that week, leave your bullshit at the door and get it all out. But you have to have respect for the others in the pit. If you push them down, you have to pick them back up. I’m not going to get behind the violence thing, it is violent, but there is a certain amount of respect and a code
By The Blood from the latest album from 2016
Have you already know "Bodies" and Drowning Pool before?
Is it a violent song for you or more like a party song?
For me it's definitely associated with my first great metal parties! :)
