This piece is meant to convey the occasional moment of clarity that comes about during an otherwise drunken stupor. Like these moments of clarity, the piece is brief.
It starts off with one piano in an ambigous time signature followed by strings, but ultimately consists of two piano parts. The second piano comes in out of time with the first, creating tension that resolves when they come into time together at the end of the verse, just before falling apart again.
