One thing you might not know about me is that growing up I was a really big Red Hot Chili Peppers fan, so much so that I got this tattoo when I was 18 (I will be 28 in 2 weeks).

I saw them in concert two times (By The Way Tour and Lollapalooza 2006).
I also am a huge John Frusciante fan (often listen to his solo work), and I feel that Josh is good, but he's no John. (I might get shit for that but that's the way I see it).

So it is my honor tonight to do a TOP 3 UNDERRATED SONGS: Red Hot Chili Pepper edition.
These will go in no specific order.
#3 - Fortune Faded:
It was released as a single in 2003, and then on the Live in Hyde Park album in 2004. Many of you probably have never heard it. John and Anthony have this thing where they just work together singing. John has a great voice, (I think it's actually better than Anthony's) but it often gets out-sung by Anthony's voice.
People tend to think the song has to do with a high from committing a crime. In the video a man can be seen with a hood over his head and the word crime is mentioned multiple times throughout the song. "Never mind the consequences of the crime this time, my fortune's faded."
I tend to agree with that assessment.
#2. - Soul to Squeeze:
This song just has such a warm feeling to it. It was supposed to be released on Blood Sugar Sex Magik, but was omitted from it finally and cast as a B-side to Give It Away and Under the Bridge. It was released on The Coneheads soundtrack, and never re-released on a studio album.
#1 (For Real). SIR PSYCHO SEXY:
Ok, so I really love the entirety of Blood Sugar Sex Magik, but Flea's bass line in this song deserves it the #1 spot alone. This song is hilarious if you actually listen to the lyrics. I believe the song below has minor censorship because the song is very vulgar lol but you should be able to find the original out there (this one's quality is better than others). It's a story about sex, obviously. It's also got some serious funk. I preferred the Chili Peppers' older stuff, Stadium Arcadium was their last really good album IMHO. Tell me you didn't laugh after listening to this song.
I know I'm going to get some debaters in the comments, which is fine. Let me know which RHCP song should've been on the list. I'm pretty sure I've heard every song they've ever put out, but who knows? Also, if you haven't seen RHCP Live at Slane Castle(Ireland) that's a great DVD to check out!
Let me know guys,
Thanks for stopping by!
