Sound's familiar? A weekend full of things and you ask yourself "Why is it monday already" ?
That's a bit wat happened to me...
First of all I want to take a moment about a tragedy happened this morning at the Pinkpop Festival. Just outside the camping a van hit 4 Pinkpop spectators and ran off. 1 person didn't survived and the other three are badly injured hospitalized. May the strength be with them and their family
This weekend was full of family and music. Saturday we had 2 cousins of my wife over for a nice evening BBQ. It was a great evening, we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Between all things I managed to see a lot of the PinkPop festival on TV.
One of the biggest suprises for me was "Nothing But Thieves" , I did not really knew them (my wife asked me under which rock I had been lol), but what A great band. Their singer has a typical great voice whith a great reach... Really like his way of singing...
They have made some great songs. And of course I had to listen to their album this morning in the car.

No TV rights
Most bands (like Nothing But Thieves) had no problem with the PinkPop organization of broadcoasting their concert. But some bands did, like Pearl Jam and Bruno Mars. At one side I can understand these things, but at the other,.....
The artists get paid hundered of thousands of euro's for one gig at PinkPop. That's really a lot of money from which my opinion is that with that they agree to the TV rights for the PinkPop organization.
But onfortunateley it doesn't work like that it seems. Bruno Mars for instance had a extra guy on stage with binoculars just to check if the organization didn't record the show from a small corner or so....quite suspicious if you ask me...
but who am I :)
Nevertheless it was again a great festival with a sad ending this morning.....
