I knew Sunmi is a great singer and performer since her days in 'Wonder Girls", but have never paid a close look at her career. When she made a solo debut with '24 hours' and 'Full moon', she did catch lots of attention, not only because of the sexy concept (she wasn't the first one from solo singers who made a sexy concept, pulled it right and then changed the sexy dance parts to be able to perform on music shows) but because of her being barefoot at every live stage she did (funny thing is that Sunmi herself said that at some point, camerman tried not to film her barefoot legs so no one could see how dirty they became after dancing on stage). Anyway, when she left JYP, I had my doubts about her career - she did leave one of the big agencies in South Korea.
In August 2017 Sunmi made a comeback with a new song titled "Gashina", the first song in her new agency. The song was produced by Teddy Park and became a HUGE hit. Although I was skeptical about her career, "Gashina" really made her one of the top singers in Korea.
Today Sunmi made a new comeback with a song called "Heroine", this time she produced the song herself with Teddy (who worked on 'Gashina' as I said before). The official statement about the main idea behind the song is "a flower locked in ice" - I think this song continues the idea from 'Gashina' when the girl came to terms with breakup.

And don't forget to see the first stage with "Heroine" on M!Countdown.
