After leaving an abusive relationship, I spent almost 14 years as a single mother. This song was a bit of a theme song for me and kept me focused whenever I felt lonely. It was also inspirational for my writing as I do try to write hero-worthy protagonists.
I was disappointed that no one tried to imitate the original video, but there are some good covers and parodies to share with you today.

Such an awesome, powerful song with an excellent video! So strong that it's been used for other things such as Shrek 2 and Vikings. This is going to be a hard act to follow!

I can really admire the amount of work that went into this one. The singer is excellent, the lyrics well done and the video is very good too. Even if you're not a World of Warcraft can, I think you can enjoy it for the quality.
Holding Out for the Doctor - presented by daena
The vocals aren't spectacular, but she's done an excellent job of meshing video clips along with her own bits of video sporting her TARDIS T-shirt and visage. The lyrics are well-written making it a really good tribute to a well-loved TV show. If you're a Whovian, it's a must-watch.

Okay, they misspelled the key word here, so I really wasn't sure what I was letting myself in for...
I was pleasantly surprised, but it's still crazy enough to feature here.
The vocals aren't great, but the lyrics and video work more than make up for it.
For the Geeks among us, there are just enough mentions of various fandoms (including Pokemon and Doctor Who) to satisfy most of us. That and the terrible pun about MANGA-ling English... it's a must-watch.

All I can say on this one is WOW!!! This girl has taken the song and made it her own - and fantastically so!
I saved it for the end because I think this is the best presentation I saw today. The world needs to watch out for this young lady, she's great!
