Last week, a video that I created for gothic metal pioneers Paradise Lost, went live!
I had a manic couple of weeks - producing/directing/shooting/editing/everything'ing on it, to a very tight deadline, but I was chuffed to see it go live to an excited and receptive Paradise Lost fanbase. The video on YouTube gained over 160,000 views in 48 hours 😯.
Fans had an unusually overall positive reaction to it, in the comments sections, which was a nice surprise.
Here's a rare un-posted photo of me and the actor Clay on set during filming.
I took about 2 photos the whole day I was so focussed on the job.
Clay was amazing. I referenced the film Joker to him for the character tone I was going for, and he absolutely nailed it.
I've worked with the band twice before on two other music videos here and here, and for this video they approached me to make one for their amazing new track Fall From Grace.
The song is absolutely epic. (all their songs are epic tbf)
It needed to be a 'no-band' narrative video and to carry a story over the best part of 6 minutes - not an easy feat.
The entire video and all the details were scripted and the shots were pre-planned. We shot everything over one single day (except for a couple of cutaway shots of birds flying etc)
Thanks to my awesome 2 person crew of the MUA Monika and trusty camera/lighting assistant Ewan.
It was an immense project and one I'm still hugely proud of.
Cheers to more 😉
