The Butlers are one of my favorite families and they happen to have 5 Million subscribers on Youtube... in any case they recorded a Music Video for their daughter a few weeks back and I was there to take some pictures.

Between takes i was able to jump in and say "Avia wanna sit on top of the piano real quick"

Or quickly while they're setting up the next shot let's get a shot with you playing with your fancy dress

But mostly I just grabbed some candids during filming.

I didn't even have to turn the camera to silent mode during filming because music videos they don't use the on location filming.

Here's the behind the scenes look... nothing too fancy but it works

It was fall over there in idaho and i got some of the beautiful scenery

then i got some candids as they filmed this part

THOUGHTS ABOUT HOW WE SEE THE WORLD

Anyway hope you enjoyed the overload of pics and you get a perfect feel for what the day and the video are like... this was how I see things.

It's been 4 years since that one time when I parked my airstream at their house for a week but I told Shay it felt like old times and what I love about being there is that life has this sort of beautiful free flowing feel to it when you're up there with Shay and then you add in the idea that every normal moment can be lived with a bunch of passion and joy. Shay has a gift to make the ordinary moments seem level 10 of 10.

In a world where it seems people try to plan out their time to have fun and be happy... they teach a great lesson of making all your moments happy and even fun, you don't have to plan them out you just have to decide to do it.

DEEP THOUGHTS
If my pictures are a representation of the ideal of the way i personally see the world ... and I do it through a tool in this art form.
I would think Shay's videos are a representation of the ideal of the way he sees the world and he shows in his own art form the way he sees the world.

Not every thing around me looks like my pictures... but I choose to document the moments when I see glimpses of the best the world has to offer and my pictures are the way life looks like to me. I think Shay's videos are the glimpses of the way he sees life at it's best.

It's not the full time reality it's the best of his reality.

It really is a wonderful time being over there... I love their little family and would hang out with them anytime with or without the camera around.
