Elon Musk announced using his favorite channel Twitter here that his Boring & Co. will still dig tunnels but instead of using the tunnels for the Hyperloop underground tubes it will use them to transport pedestrians and cyclists first.
Sustainability and "zero pollution" of the transport system is one of the main goals of Musk and seems that he wants to prioritize pedestrians and cyclist in order to low emissions.
