Tabinshwehti was only fifteen when he became king in 1531.In 1535 Tabinshwehti started his career of conquest by attacking Lower Myanmar probably because it was prospering on sea trade and contained more loot than the Upper Myanmar.His strategy was to subdue the Mons first as quickly as possible so as to capture some rich seaports and thus obtain the large amount of custom duties as funds.
So tabibshwehti attacked Bago repeatedly till its final submission to him in 1539.Bayinnaung also could manage to the historic battle of Naung Yo.
The Bago King Takaryutpi died while hunting elephants near Ingapur in 1539.The sudden death of the Mon King hastened the whole sale submission of Mon chiefs.
Tabinshwehti returnedto Bagoto consolidate his position over the Mons,and used all the arts of consolidation towards the Mons.Tabinshwehti's next target was to attack Madama.He besieged the city which fell in Tabinshwehti's final assault in 1541.The fall if Madama frightened the rest of Mons into submission.Mawlamying surrendered without a blow and the Mon territories as,far as the Siamese frontier at Dawe,fall into myanmar's hands.
