Wow! What an experience I just had. My computer was asking me to update, so I did. It was taking me from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Not thinking anything of it, I activated the download and my computer was acting very funky. Then, I contacted the Geek Squad since I was already under contract with them. After spending a day on the computer with them, I asked for them to take me back to Windows 10.
I was also told that the download for Windows 11 has a bug in it. Therefore, it was a no-brainer to go back. No sooner did I finish with them that my significant other told me that the Geek Squad was on my phone. I was told that they were receiving error messages from my computer. I wouldn't have believed this normally, but they went over everything that they did earlier. Why wouldn't I believe them?
They had me go to the Geek Squad icon on my computer and they already had access to being able to operate my computer. Later that evening, I received a call from one of my credit cards about a purchase that I tried to make. Needless to say, the last call didn't come from the Geek Squad. They apparently installed a mirroring device on my computer and was able to read everything I did in an effort to fix my PC. I am still changing passwords and fixing things but at least the device was removed. I am happy to be back on Hive and I am chalking it up to another lesson learned!
