Today, we spent the day at one of my favorite beaches in Southern California - Newport Beach. Newport Beach is a great one of the best beaches to be at, but also one of the hardest to park at. The area is very popular, and is a good mix of local residents and destination vacationers. There are many happenings - from sport fishing boats, to harbor cruises, to surf contests - there is always something interesting going on.
The weather was a little chilly, low 60s, and the breeze was fairly strong, making it feel even cooler. Due to that, the popular beach was mostly quiet for a Saturday. Come summer, this will be one of the best spots to be so it will get pretty crowded. We played in the sand, got our legs wet in the surf and played some toss with a football - a good way to spend the day!
