Being alone.
In a world where being constantly connected has become a necessity in our day-to-day lives, I believe that it came hand-in-hand with not appreciating giving yourself time to be alone.
There's nothing wrong with taking a raincheck on a "few beers" after a long day at the office. It's ok to want to stay in on a rainy day and just read a book with a cup of your favorite hot chocolate in hand. Go ahead and skip that party when you feel like you just want to be a human-burrito in your warm fluffy blanket. Say "yes" to going to a spa or getting your hair done to pamper yourself after a task-packed month because you feel like you deserve it. It's totally fine if you want to cook yourself up a meal at home and binge-watch Game of Thrones (yes, it's my favorite. Haha) in the comfort of your living room instead of eating out at a restaurant with your friends.
I say there's nothing wrong with wanting time alone sometimes. Being alone doesn't necessarily mean you're alone, sad, or depressed for that matter. Making time for yourself is actually healthy and necessary at times. It gives you time to meditate, recuperate, and it can actually promote self-improvement.
So, don't be afraid to say "no" to being outgoing when you aren't feeling it. Don't be afraid to say "yes" to wanting time for yourself once in a while. Say "yes" to recuperation, relaxation, and self-improvement!
By all means, be alone when you want to be and don't feel like you need to explain yourself for doing so. Taking care of your mental and emotional self is just as important as taking care of your physical self. So take care of yourself in all aspects because you alone are the only one who knows exactly what your body, heart, and soul needs. ❤
