Even what most see as a weed can be beautiful in its own way

Not even sure what this plant is called but I quite like this shot I got of it and edited in sepia tones.
Don’t judge a book by its cover
This maybe apt to say in relation to this photo and post, often we grow to have perceptions on what is beautiful based on our upbringing and what is around us.
It’s very easy to let a first glance at something or someone and form an opinion quickly, I have to be honest I was like that to a degree when I grew up, but two things have helped me to change and now not jump based on first impressions.
One is my travelling over the years as some who have followed me for a while may know I have been lucky to travel a lot through my job over the years and have been to over 60 countries some on most people's wish list to visit and some places people would never think of visiting especially when I was there just after conflict or disaster of some sort, and this has really opened my eyes to see things in a totally different way and look for beauty everywhere
The Second thing that has changed how I literally view things is through Photography Initially in my mid teens and twenties, and now when I started again about 10 Years ago.
Photography leads you to look at things from all angles and in all light options looking for a good shot.
Now travelling is not something everyone can do, heck when I was growing up in a small town back in New Zealand I never imagined I would visit one country let alone 60+, but with the advancement in cellphone cameras looking at things with a photographer's eye is indeed possible,
So try and not let first impressions and conditioning control your thoughts all the time, try to pause and see things through your own eyes and see the beauty that is there in some form or other
