My first 30 days was full of mixed emotions. I was very overwhelmed when my introduction post earned around $9. The following days I got disappointed because I barely earned $1 dollar. I felt like I wanted to give up but I realized it was too early to accept failure. So, I have joined different discord channels to learn more about the platform and gained a lot of friends.

My Expectation

When my friend Hive account@greatwarrior79 invited me to join steemit, I was very excited to sign up. I expected to be rewarded when posting quality post. But it didn’t turn out that well. It makes me felt sad until one day I wanted to give up because I was tired thinking, creating and editing blog. But look at me now? I’m still here, writing and sharing with you my first month journey even if my expectation wasn’t turned into reality.

My Motivation

Joining different discord channels were a big advantage to me. It helps me to gain new friends in different countries while learning how the platform works. I have joined a lot of contest such as #dailyfoodphotography, #colorchallenge, #7bnwchallenge, #selfiechallenge, #poetrychallenge, and many others. You know what? I never win, even once! I never stop because I have read from one of the posts of Hive account@dobartim that if I am a minnow I should not be disappointed when whales don’t upvote me. First, whales will upvote their friends and relatives because they will help those people whom they know. Second, if whales will found my post interesting, then maybe they’ll upvote me. From there, I realized that it’s true. Who am I that whales will support and upvote? Well, I should make quality post and be consistent on it.

My Advice

To my fellow minnows, never get tired creating blogs even if it doesn't earned. Just love what you are doing and do it well. Never expect anything in return. Always be happy in every blessings that came into your life. Eventually you wil be rewarded of your hardships. Most importantly, never beg for an upvote.
