The Friday is my Free Day
No post for this Day
Just one Picture and a little story
For us Muslims in Aceh, Friday is a sacred day, full of blessings and accompanied by some taboos
Friday is the culmination of daily practice for Muslims throughout the World.
As we know, that Muslims are obliged to perform the prayer service in five parts of the time each day, from dawn in the morning to Isha at the end of the night.
While on every Friday, Muslims are also obliged to perform Friday Prayers in congregation at the Mosque, coinciding with the time of Dhuhr Prayers, consequently the obligation of Dhuhr Prayers, which amounts to four rak'ahs will be replaced by just carrying Friday prayers in congregation of two rak'ahs.
To support the implementation of Friday prayers in congregation in the culture and local wisdom of our community there are some taboos for not doing heavy activities on Friday, so as not to obstruct the procession of worship.
The abstinence includes heavy activities that spend a lot of time and energy, so it's not surprising that from Friday morning until Friday prayers at Dhuhr are finished many activities stop activities such as fishing to the sea, long journeys, rough and heavy work in ladng or dawab and many more, depending on the wisdom of each sub District.
No community objected or complained about this, because this habit has been going on for generations.
