This poisonous viper came swimming down the river the other day while I was checking out the fishing conditions. It is very rare to see a copperhead swimming, but I have seen this a few times in my life. I'm told the bite from a copperhead is not usually deadly but requires immediate medical attention because loss of limb is possible.
